Town of Keene, New York

11/2/2025 Report: This was my 28th ADK 46'er. I chose to run the Lake Road and then the Scenic Route which gives several opportunities to view Lower Ausable Lake from high above the western shoreline. The lookouts on the way up felt very similar to the views from Indian Head. Approximately halfway up the climb fresh snow was encountered as well as ice on the rocky sections. The trail spikes came out and were worn until almost a complete descent of the Weld Trail. The views were spectacular with Colvin and Blake to the south and the Great Range Peaks to the northwest. On the way out I took the West River Trail which was new mileage for me and allowed for a stop at the Beaver Meadows Falls.

Description: Moving time was 3:06:12 with 4,140 feet of climbing and 14.69 miles. Sawteeth Mountain is the 35th-highest peak in the Adirondacks and a member of the 46 High Peaks. Summit elevation is 4,100 feet. It is known for the serrated appearance of its ridge line.
